What We Believe
We believe the Bible, consisting of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. We believe the Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.
We believe in one living and true God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe God created mankind in his own image, both male and female, to glorify Him and to worship Him.
We believe all of mankind are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s wrath, except by His mercy.
We believe salvation is by grace alone through faith in Christ alone and is a gift from God. We believe God sovereignly saves based on His grace, not on any human individual merit. We believe by the grace of God, all those who repent and believe in Jesus Christ shall be fully reconciled to God.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who is truly God and truly man. We believe in his substitutionary perfect life, sacrificial death, and bodily resurrection as the necessary atonement for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.
We believe the Holy Spirit is present with and dwells in all believers.
We believe those who have received the gift of salvation through the atoning work of Jesus Christ are being sanctified by the grace of God. We believe all believers are called to and should pursue holiness in every area of their lives.
We believe that all believers, as disciples of Jesus Christ, are called to live as citizens of the Kingdom of God.
We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which the Lord Jesus Christ is the head and all believers are members. We believe in the autonomous local church, consisting of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, who have given credible professions of faith and have covenanted together to love God and neighbor.
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ has appointed two ordinances to the local church, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that baptism is an ordinance of the Lord by which those who have repented and come to faith express their union with Christ in His death and resurrection, by being immersed in water in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Lord’s Supper is an ordinance of the Lord in which gathered believers eat bread, signifying Christ’s body given for His people, and drink the cup of the Lord, signifying the New Covenant in Christ‘s blood.
We believe that marriage is instituted by God, not government, is between one man and one woman, and is the only context for sexual desire and expression.
We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people of all tribes and tongues to Himself. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the eternal joy of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked.
We believe in the restoration of all things and the final consummation of the Kingdom where Jesus will reign forever and ever as King.
